Dr. Gordon W. Skelton has extensive experience in software development, cyber security, database design and development, and data analytics. His professional career started in 1978 as Director of the Mississippi Statistical Analysis Center (MSAC) which focused on data analytics and software for use by the criminal justice arena. Following that work, he received his B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1987. In 2001, Dr. Skelton received his PhD from the University of South Africa in Computer Science with a focus on integration testing of object-oriented software. For 15 years, Dr. Skelton was the Vice President for Information Systems for Mississippi Valley Title Insurance. During that time Dr. Skelton taught computer science and telecommunications engineering for Belhaven University and the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). In January 2005 Dr Skelton joined the Computer Engineering Department at Jackson State University (JSU). During his tenure at JSU, Dr. Skelton conducted research and development on funded projects representing over $10 million. That research was funded by the US Department of the Army, the US Department of Homeland Security, and Oak Ridge National Laboratories. In December 2017, Dr. retired from JSU and began his full time commitment to consulting, software development, and research with Security and Analytics, LLC, where he serves as the Principle and Chief Scientist.
